Self-service open in the beer garden
The Augustiner brewery is the oldest brewery in Munich and the last privately owned one. Its history begins in 1328.
More than 670 years of beer tradition.
A long time in which the highest quality was always the top priority. And this has not changed to this day. This starts with the uncompromising selection of raw materials - for example, only single-variety barley from local production is used. And it continues in our own malt production.
The Augustiner brewery is one of the very few breweries in the world with a significant production volume that does its own barn floor malting. The malting house in the cellars of the brewery building is probably the largest in the world. Here the grain is spread out in thin layers on special Solnhofner plates on the barn floor and mechanically turned over again and again. This process is very laborious, but the malt produced is of the highest quality.
The Augustiner brewery dedicates itself to the continuing production process with the same philosophy and care. Every single step is optimised to brew top beers that meet the highest standards. The fact that the Augustiner brewery brews exclusively according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 needs no further comment.
